A salt-loving marsh humanoid, the bulywug is found along seashores, as they prefer brackish and saline waters. Agressive and territorial, bulywugs will defend their homes against intruders.
These manlike frog creatures build huts of mud and sticks deep in marshy areas. Rumors of more civilized bulywugs living offshore among reef-like cities are sometimes heard of in sea-going towns.
The skin of the bulywug oozes with moisture, and they must return to water often to keep themselves from drying out. Thus, the bulywug is seldom encountered more than a few hundred yards from a significant body of water, as walking also pains them on their flat, flippered feet. They hate torches and fires, because the heat causes their skin to dry more quickly.
