The death grub is the caterpillar form of the immature death moth. Death grubs are found in rotting flesh, inhabiting corpses in jungles while they feed. The powerful jaws of the grub are capable of chewing up bone, on which they feed before they pupate and begin to metamorphize into their adult form.

Although death grubs are not very aggressive, they can be dangerous if they are allowed to lock their jaws on something. The bite of a death grub is painful and can sever a limb if left attached long enough.
