Dogs bark at the most inopportune times. They are particularly the bane of Thieves, alerting their masters at the slightest out-of-place sound or scent. Dogs are often kept in rural communities to raise an alarum when strangers enter town, so no one is asleep or unaware of their presence. Dogs are sometimes bred especially large, see War Dog.
