The Fog Maw is a native of the Ethereal Plane, and is only to be encountered there. A Fog Maw appears quite suddenly out of the continual gray and gloom of the ether, and snaps at unwary travelers, seeking to drag them off to its den and consume them in mysterious fashion.
Fog Maws appear to exhibit a preference for reflections of ruins and the lost places between pockets of stronger ether on the Ethereal. Where one is found, more are likely to dwell as well, although they are occasionally bound as extraplanar watchdogs by majzi.
