Giant gulls are found near large bodies of water, both salt and fresh. They will fight ferociously for the meanest scraps of food, and serve to fill much the same niche as the Vultures found inland. They continually glide in the thermal updrafts found where large bodies of water meet cliffs and land, and will then dive at the slightest opportunity to feed.

They are well known as nuisances, appearing to harass travelers on narrow cliffsides and the like. They are aggressive birds, and will squabble over worthless garbage just for the sake of squabbling. To low level characters, they can present a serious hazard in number, as their sharp beaks do a surprising amount of damage.

Sometimes, in seasons where the bird's predations become simply unendurable, a bounty will be placed on their heads in villages that make their living from the practice of fishing, such as Lakedown.
